and murder of 8 yr. old Maddy Middleton, the Ebola outbreak, the choke hold death of Eric Garner by a New
York City police officer, violent protests in Oakland after the Michael Brown Jr. verdict in Ferguson, Missouri,
the George Zimmerman verdict, and the Bart strike in July 2013 that crippled the Bay Area.
She also solo anchored the Asiana flight 214 plane crash at San Francisco International Airport for 2 straight
hours on KRON 4.

Anthony is a California native, born and raised in Los Angeles just a few miles from Hollywood and a daily view of the Hollywood sign. After a corporate career as a New Hire Sales Trainer for a major computer retailer, Anthony found a passion for photography and the visual arts. He was introduced to Streetlights.org a non-profit organization whose mission is to bring diversity to the entertainment industry. After successfully completing their program, he worked and joined IATSE Local 695 Production Sound and Video Engineering and Studio Projection for Motion Pictures, Television, Music, Commercials and Sports Broadcast. Over the years, he has work on hundreds of commercials and many web series, television shows and feature films.

Gladys’s journey as a freelance artist began while she managed a Sally Beauty Supply in Morgan Hill CA. While attending cosmetology school, she also gained personal clients which gave her motivation to not just style her clients hair but provide the best products for their hair and skin. In her search for quality products that were worth more than just a brand name in beauty expo’s and conventions, she found MUD The Makeup Designory. Discovering that working in film creating characters and personalities through makeup and hair styles was an achievable career that was eye opening and exciting. Gladys started her career as a professional makeup artist applying her talents in the areas of film, commercial, print and music videos. She has worked on shoots for Google, Toyota, Nissan, AARP, and worked personally for many famous actors/actresses, designers, models and singers.




Without realizing it, Director/Producer/Writer Grant Housley started his journey into film making as a kid growing up on the south side of Chicago.  Over the years, his love for storytelling deepened which led him to study his craft at Columbia College and ultimately move to Los Angeles to pursue his passion for film.  Grant continues to lengthen his already impressive resume with projects that range from short film collaborations with Hollywood elite to directing music videos with Grammy-nominated artists.  In addition, he has developed scripts for television and film and is the creator, director and producer for the hit television movie Going for Broke. Grant’s talents have afforded him career changing opportunities to work at prominent post production facilities like Technicolor, the world renowned Walt Disney Studios and his current place of employment, the iconic Paramount Studios. Working with these historic institutions has allowed him to work on some of the biggest blockbuster films and critically acclaimed television series in the world.




Born and raised in Los Angeles California, Ivan Torres has been a professional filmmaker for the past 4 years. Growing up in one of the biggest movie making cities in the world, Ivan fell in love with film.  Having a passion for both technology and film is what lead him to pursue a career in being behind the camera. Throughout his career, Ivan has worked on 4 feature films taking on various roles. His current roles in the film industry include sound, assistant camera, and drone operating. Drone operating has always been a favorite for Ivan because it combines technology and art. Drone operating has allowed him to travel to places like Hong Kong and China in order to film a visual album, and a few major cities in North America. He also had the opportunity to fly for Time Magazine to film a Dodge Commercial. Ivan has been has been a part a professional drone team for the past 2 years with the company ArtLAFilm.




John Henry studied acting at the world-renowned Pasadena Playhouse College of Theatre Arts, and filmmaking at the University of California, Los Angeles. Having appeared in over 400 films, TV shows, plays and commercials, John Henry likes to mix it up. Currently he can be seen as a salty sea dog in the children’s movie, NESSIE & ME.  On television, watch for him co-starring as a tough police chief on the upcoming Chinese TV series for Netflix, SEVEN DAYS ALIVE. He also co-stars in the episodic Fox TV series, LEGENDS AND LIES as William Seward, Secretary of State to Abraham Lincoln. He can also be seen playing President Franklin Roosevelt on Sarah Silverman’s I LOVE YOU AMERICA (co-starring with Jon Hamm, Jason Sudeikis and Adam Scott). John is the proud winner of 33 International Film Festival Awards.




As a director, editor and an Emmy Award-Winning producer Kurt T Jones has had a successful entertainment career in the non-scripted television sphere. Most recently Kurt has directed a music video for recording artist Sophie Ann, a short film starring comedian Clint Coley entitled, “You Got One Week” and is presently in production with his next documentary focused on a survivor of the American Japanese Internment camps.
Kurt’s previous work “Just Me and All of You” starring Naomi Grossman (Pepper, American Horror Story) was an official selection for in the Festival du Cannes Short Film Corner and won a Best Short Film award from The Best Shorts Competition and was nominated for Best Short film from NAFCA In addition, Kurt wrote and directed the short film, “The Cart” starring Ernest Thomas (Raj, What’s Happening Now) in addition to the title sequence for the docu-series “K-Ci and Jojo: Come Clean” starring multi-platinum recording artists, K-Ci and Jojo. As an editor Kurt has worked on some of the
most popular shows on the air including: VH1 Hip Hop Squares, Biggest Loser, America’s Next Top Model, and The Bachelor.




In some of her earliest memories Melissa Lahti remembers cutting quilting squares whilst learning the basics of home crafts with her grandmother. Her upbringing continued to support her ability to create when her parents opened a construction company where she learned the basics of building at summer jobs throughout middle and high school. While her early career focused on business management and fine arts she has been working in film for six years and throughout that time she has designed commercial sets for Playstation, Disney, and Mattel.  Over the last couple of years she has been focusing on narratives for projects with Comedy Central, MTV, and the signature series for Crypt TV the Looks See.




At root a comedic storyteller and community engagement specialist, Karimi mixes humor, rasquache aesthetics and performance to communicate poems and stories that feed audiences an interactive cross-cultural collision of joy, pop culture & personal history in theatres, grocery stores, backyards, and off-Broadway. He’s embodied over 40 characters in his 3 solo shows, from Chicano hipsters, to Disco Jesus, to Iranian women who told him how to be a man to pop star Freddie Mercury.  A Pushcart Prize-nominated writer, his work appeared in newspapers, NPR, literary journals, and numerous anthologies including the LA Times, Asian American Literary Review, and Wandering Song: Anthology of Central American Writers. A national poetry slam champion who has featured throughout the country at venues such as the Nuyorican Poets Café, Chicago Theater, Def Poetry Jam, The Smithsonian, and SXSW. Creative Capital, the NEA, the MAP Fund, Warhol Foundation, and SuperValu Foundation invested in his recent projects. He now serves as the artistic director of his own artistic career and ThePeoplesCook Project.




Roger Artola  has been working in the film industry for the past eight years. Roger Has filmed over six feature films, a couple amongst which have gone theatrical and several others which ended up on Netflix and Hulu. Drone flying has always been a fascination for him and this fascination has given him the opportunity to travel the world, flying for shows like Altered Course in Jamaica for NBC and flying in Hong Kong and China for a visual album. He has been flying drones for the past 4 years professionally and has even flown for a DJI commercial. Roger is also teaching drone courses with one of his most recent clients being Gwen Stefani for her two children. Tasha is a native of California, and like other Californians she has always been aware of the film and TV Industry. She fell in love with digital editing and realized that she wanted to use this medium to tell beautiful stories to the world. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Radio, Film and Television and worked in network television for over 12 years representing major networks.  Tasha continued to study TV and film editing and is currently a certified AVID Media Composer 6.0 User, she studied at Video Symphony and her first internship was working on an independent documentary that entered into several film festivals. She also had an internship with the sundance film festival.





With two decades of credits under her belt, TeeJ Mercer is the consummate storyteller both behind the camera and in front.  As an award-winning TV Editor, her resume is filled with notable names such as VH1, MTV, Animal Planet, SpikeTV, OWN, Bravo, Dreamworks Studios, The Walt Disney Company, Warner Brothers, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Access Hollywood, The Bachelor, Swamp People, Clean House, My Cat from Hell, LA Hair, and Bar Rescue to name just a few. Publicity and DVD features for gigantic box office hits such as Shrek, Chronicles of Narnia, The Incredibles, Cars, Princess Diaries, Cinderella are also in her arsenal, plus much more.
She was also the Behind-The-Scenes Producer for the $100-million comedy of 2018, Night School starring Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish as well as this Summer’s Shaft with the billion-dollar icon Samuel L. Jackson, and legendary Richard Roundtree, plus Jessie T. Usher.




Trevor Armstrong is a Los Angeles based composer, audio engineer, and music producer working mainly in television and film. Over the last ten years, he’s scored and contributed music to network television shows such as The New Girl on Fox, and Community on NBC, as well as countless commercial ad campaigns (JC Penny, Suzuki Motors and AT&T to name a few). He’s also worked with some of the industry’s top composers such as Ludwig Goransson on major studio films like Creed, and Black Panther, of which won the 2019 Oscar for best original score.
His earlier years were spent drumming on records, working as an audio engineer, and touring with various artists like The White Buffalo, and The Sea of Cortez. He continues to recording and producing records for both independent and signed artists.




Ryan Gibson has been writing for over 20 years and is a talented Television and Film writer as well as sought after Script Therapist. Ryan began writing in college receiving notoriety for his full-length stage play, “Crossroads”. He moved to Los Angeles a year later to pursue a career in the entertainment industry. He has written for the hit CBS drama “Criminal Minds”, as well as a feature in “Frankenhood”, and an infomercial for SEIU Union. Ryan has also taught Introduction to Screenwriting in Nigeria to hundreds of “Nollywood” Professionals and those new to the entertainment industry with both New York Film Academy and Del-York Creative Academy.




Camille Tucker is a thriving writer who has sold screenplays to the major studios including Sony, Universal, New Line Cinema, Fox TV and Disney. The A-list producers who have optioned her scripts include Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, Stacey Snider, Marc Platt, and John Singleton. As an award-winning director/producer, her short films have screened at the Sundance, Heartland, Pan African and San Luis Obispo film festivals. Cellular, which she
wrote and directed, won Best Short Narrative Film at the Roxbury Film Festival. In 2018, Camille was honored to be selected as one of eleven producers in the Producers Guild of America Power of Diversity Workshop, and in 2019 she was a finalist and the drama alternate in the Disney|ABC TV Writing Fellowship. Camille is a screenwriting professor at Biola University and holds and MFA in writing for film and TV from Loyola Marymount
University. In her free time she volunteers to help youth and women in crisis.




Janell has been in the entertainment business for over 20 years and has booked over 100 national commercials, an accomplishment that has made her a familiar face in living rooms around the country.  She has appeared in major campaigns with Jim Harbaugh, Ellen Degeneres and Michael Strahan just to name a few.
She is a multi-talented performer who has toured internationally with the group Shalamar and was able to grace the stage of the prestigious Corn Exchange in England.  Her television career began to heat up as she booked a string of guest stars on shows like “Eve”, “ER”, “Las Vegas”, “CSI:Miami”, “Harry Law” and “Bones”. Janell has also starred in a string of independent movies with Vivica A. Fox, Rockmond Dunbar and Bill Bellamy.




Mario Sotelo-Herrerá is a multi-media animator based in Los Angeles, California. Sotelo received his BA in Studio art, concentration in digital art at California State University Sacramento and an MFA in animation from the University of Southern California. Sotelo’s current project is Criatura, a 3D computer animated film anticipated to be completed in the spring of 2019. Inspired by Sotelo’s Mexican heritage, Criatura is beautifully crenated with mariachi music and visually appealing cultural elements.
With a traditional oil painting background, Sotelo is able to apply similar painting concepts to computerized 3D models. Sotelo is a skillful organic modeler and draws inspiration from the environment, natural elements, and everyday life. Influenced by the artificial idealism of the media, reality is ever present and confronted. The juxtapose tension between synthetic and organic elements manifest tainted habits of society.




Two-time NAACP Image Award recipient, Writer-Producer-Director T. Faye Griffin has amassed an impressive list of credits from A&E to NBC, FOX to PBS, and independent films, theater, and radio which include the Emmy Award-winning comedy series In Living Color.  A well-respected member of the comedy community, her work on the 2003 and 2004 Trumpet Awards each garnered a NAACP Image Award nomination, and in 2007 she scored a win as Producer of BET’s Celebration of Gospel.   In 2006 she celebrated her first feature film credit with the release of the Steve Harvey concert film, Don’t Trip…He Ain’t Through With Me Yet. Griffin was featured in the Cannes edition of “The Business of Film Magazine.”  The year 2013 was a banner behind-the-scenes year as Ms. Griffin served as writer of the live broadcast of the 44th NAACP Image Awards produced by Reginald Hudlin and earned her second Image Award for BET’s runaway hit special, Black Girls Rock!





Tiffany Thomas is a driven actress, writer and producer. Having moved from Rockford, IL to Los Angeles, CA she has created a name for herself in the entertainment industry. As an actress, Tiffany performed in theater productions in Illinois before coming to Los Angeles and graduating from the John Ruskin Theater Group, two-year conservatory program. Her many appearances in theater productions led her to being nominated for an NAACP Theater Award for Best Lead Actress in the play Decisions. She appeared on such shows as Hart of Dixie, Revenge, Real Hollywood Husbands and Nicky, Ricky, Dicky and Dawn. Acting further inspired Tiffany on to the journey of writing. She was the a writer for the sketch comedy troupe Slow Children Crossing (SCC) and for eight years Tiffany’s sketches could be seen on stage at the Comedy Store, Laugh Factory and UCB. She also wrote and directed the
short film Save The Cupcake.




Daryl Gilmore works as a cinematographer and camera operator shooting
features, short films, commercials, and music videos. He grew up in New Hampshire and attended the University of Hawaii after a tour in the military, later earning a master’s degree in cinematography at the American Film Institute. He loves to work and travel and his favorite film is the Shawshank Redemption. His long list of past clients includes Peavey, Jack Daniels, Kenneth Cole, Lion’s Gate, BuzzFeed, DreamworksTV, Smashbox, and Facebook. His films have earned festival attention and awards, and he currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.

Donn Keita is a Film Producer, Director, Writer and Visual Artist living and working in Los Angeles. He studied film and video at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts) and acquired his bachelors in fine arts.  He has created content for companies such as Netflix, MTV, VH1, and Samsung.  His work focuses on fusing themes of rock & roll and speculative fiction (sci-fi, horror, fantasy) in contemporary and dystopian societies. His visual art style is highly influenced by comic book, anime, and video game culture as seen through the lens of the black diaspora.




After working in the Polish film Industry for several years Marcin moved to Los Angeles to expand his filmmaking knowledge and skills at the prestigious American Film Institute. His thesis film Sin Cielo premiered at the Columbus Films festival and was screened in numerous highly respected film festivals including the Atlanta Film Festival, Brussels International Film Festival, MARFA Film Festival and Palm Springs International Short Fest where it got awarded. Sin Cielo will air on HBO in September.
Since graduation Marcin worked in the fields of feature film, music videos, commercials and even puppet movies. Apart from being a filmmaker, Marcin is an avid rock climber. He has climbed in Poland, California and Arizona in preparation for his first big wall ascent in Yosemite.
