This course introduces the student to practical skills and industry insights that PR and Media offer to create a truly unique blend of communication perspectives that will put the student in the very best position to pursue a PR and Media career. Informed by the working approaches of top PR, communication and digital templates around the world, this course will develop your understanding, awareness and appreciation of PR and Media communication as a concept and as a discipline.
Students will become critical media consumers and will draw upon personal areas of interest to assess influence and impact in action, hence using this knowledge to their own creative campaigns, helping the students build an impressive product portfolio that will make them stand out from the recruitment crowd.
Students will learn from a mixture of basic theory on how to conduct public relations suitable for small start-up businesses, international companies, political campaigns, social programs, personal development, and other outreach projects; while also deepening students knowledge of theories and approaches that deal with how the Internet and social media shape society.
Videos, articles, and discussions will offer the opportunity to learn and engage with other learners on key concepts and ideas.
At the end of the course, the student will become a confident PR professional and Media practitioner that has honed keen communications skills for a multitude of audiences and purposes, making the student more job-ready than many of their contemporaries from other learning institutions.
During the course, students will perform writing exercises and get personalized feedback on their work. Written exercises and interactive discussion boards/chats will assist students with their studies. By viewing videos, students can analyze screenwriting techniques of screenwriters.
At the end of the course, students will be given a personal plan on how to approach the industry. Over the four weeks course, every student will have uniquely been tutored to appreciate and achieve their different goals for a PR and Media Communications career.
